Bobby Matoney LMHC-D
He/Him/His
Bobby Matoney is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC-D) who brings both clinical expertise and a deep commitment to human connection. He joins Suite 14 Psychotherapy after serving at GMHC, one of the nation’s leading organizations supporting LGBTQ+ communities, where he worked at the forefront of LGBTQ+ mental health.
Bobby works with adults, adolescents, and couples, specializing in identity, relationships, trauma, and life transitions. He has particular expertise supporting LGBTQ+ clients navigating depression, anxiety, substance use recovery, and the complexities of self-esteem.
Bobby’s therapeutic style is collaborative and eclectic, drawing from psychodynamic insight, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, somatic practices, and attachment-focused approaches. He works closely with clients to find what resonates, blending evidence-based tools with curiosity and creativity. Bobby believes therapy is both a place for healing and a space to imagine new possibilities. Clients often describe his presence as warm, thoughtful, and disarmingly human, grounded in humor, depth, and a belief that growth comes not only from relieving pain but also from cultivating joy, curiosity, and connection.
